The competent authority is the Greek Ministry of the Environment. The National Organisation for Medicines (EOF) of the Ministry of Health and Social Solidarity is the competent authority for medicinal products. The EOF mission is to ensure public health and safety. Upon a positive opinion of the Ethics Committee, the EOF grants the final authorization for the clinical trial. So far no clinical trials with GMOs or gene therapy have been conducted.
